Many young people in South Africa have the talent and determination to succeed, yet face barriers such as limited funding, poor learning environments, and lack of access to academic guidance. The South Africa Student Support Initiative connects high-potential students from rural communities with committed mentors who support them in achieving their educational and career goals.
Through one-to-one mentorship, students receive personalised tutoring and tailored guidance, including help with university and job applications, as well as encouragement to build the confidence needed to pursue ambitious futures. The programme is designed to support students in developing and realising their capabilities, enabling them to turn their potential into opportunities for choice and agency. By creating long-term relationships and strong networks, the initiative strives to open doors to higher education and meaningful careers.
